Piece and Patch / Colour Study

This workshop is based on my experience of making a series of small colour samples. I found this rather obvious exercise totally captivating, way beyond my expectations. Here’s hoping you’ll enjoy it just as much. This is an opportunity to bring together those tiny scraps and treasures that would otherwise languish at the bottom of the cupboard, and then you can embellish them with your preferred stitching. Your work can be themed around any idea, or on a collection of special fabrics that you love, like vintage stuff, lace, old embroideries, or it could be colour based, like mine. In the second part of the workshop. I’ll lead you through a way to mount your samples into a simple booklet, which will allow you to display them elegantly, or just save them in an easily accessible form.
